Exclusive preview of THE’s Asia University Rankings 2015

Phil Baty will explore the methodology and the results ahead of their official global release, while Miguel Lin will drill beneath the data to explore the characteristics of a typical world ranked university. Linda Chang will describe how global rankings have influenced the governance and administration of a leading Taiwan institution, even changing institutional culture. 

The session will provide unprecedented insights into the data behind the rankings, and will explore the rankings’ effect on institutional management, offering valuable lessons for organisational cultures.

Director for Global Alliances - Office of International Affairs, National Taiwan University, Taiwan

Linda works to create and enhance frameworks for sustainable global partnerships, promote diversified opportunities and excellence in experiential education at National Taiwan University. In this role since 2008, she mines massive soft and hard data in order to design global visits for high-level delegations to and from NTU campus, including heads of state, government officials and senior academic officials. Session 6.1

EU Marie Curie PhD fellow - Department of Education, Aarhus University, Denmark

Miguel Antonio Lim is an EU Marie Curie PhD fellow under the EU funded project, Universities in the Knowledge Economy (UNIKE). The focus of his PhD is the international university rankings. Session 6.1
