Heriot-Watt University invites Going Global 2018 delegates to visit their Putrajaya campus and discover the challenges faced when establishing a branch campus.
Founded in 1821, and named after James Watt, the father of the industrial revolution, Heriot-Watt University was recently awarded the “International University of the Year” by The Times and Sunday Times. It is the first time International University of the Year has been a category in the prestigious awards. Heriot-Watt was selected as International University of the Year in recognition of its truly global presence and impact: the university has five global campuses in the UK, Dubai and Malaysia, partners in 150 countries and over 30,000 students worldwide. Only 11,000 of these students study in the UK.
Learn how Heriot-Watt’s Malaysian campus played a part in leading the university to establish it’s guaranteed “Go Global inter-campus transfer programme”, and how this led to a globalised education approach, where students in any of its campuses are able to travel without any interruption to their studies. Discover the challenges the university faced in setting up the branch campus in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and what can be learnt from those experiences.
Professor Mushtak Al Atabi, CEO and Provost of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia invites Going Global delegates to a campus tour of the university’s facilities, including the living green roof of the iconic Green Building Index compliant Heriot-Watt University Malaysia campus.
How to get there
Delegates will be collected by bus from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Light refreshments will be provided before returning to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in time for Going Global’s opening plenary.
Please be aware that there are only 40 spaces available for this campus tour and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
This campus tour is free of charge to attend for Going Global conference delegates.
