Hasso Plattner Institute invites Going Global 2019 delegates to visit the HPI School of Design Thinking in Potsdam and learn about HPI’s concepts for the future of education.
The HPI School of Design Thinking was founded by Hasso Plattner in 2007. Since then it has become the European center for Design Thinking education. In small multidisciplinary teams and together with project partners from companies, non-profit organisations or political institutions participants develop human-centric solutions for complex problems in a unique learning environment.
Visit us to learn why Design Thinking is a key approach for the future of learning and education, get to know our academic and executive programs and join us for a tour of the premises of the HPI D-School.
We will also introduce HPI’s free online learning platform openHPI. openHPI offers the interested public online courses with a diverse focus. The courses target a broad audience providing introductions to the fundamentals of computer science and digital technologies. Topics include the workings of the Internet and the WWW, the building of databases, or security technology in IT as well as Design Thinking.
Moreover, we will present the HPI Schul-Cloud. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and in close collaboration with the nationwide excellence network MINT-EC, the HPI is developing a “School Cloud”. It is designed to provide a technical basis for enabling students and teachers to use modern, digital teaching and learning materials in every class, just as apps can be used on smartphones and tablets.
