Welcome to the 5th Your World global competition!

The Your World global competition is for students in partner schools who take UK qualifications such as the IGCSE, O level and A level through the British Council.

Your World is a short video competition for students aged 14 - 17 provide a window into their world that will interest other students from all over the world.

We are excited to announce the launch of Your World Video Competition for 2019-2020. Building on the success of previous Your World competitions, we are pleased inform you that the theme for this year’s competition is ‘Waters of the World’.

We would like students to make a video of a social action project that focuses on an issue related to an identified water source such as sea, river, lake and its impact on a local community.

Students could focus on an environmental issue related to water such as flooding, droughts or access to clean water. Students could also look at eco-friendly solutions to water pollution or ways of conserving water. This could be in their country, town, city, school or a local community. The project should also highlight the long-term impact of the actions that are being proposed or undertaken to address the issue.

In making their video, students will be able to draw on their cross-curricular knowledge while developing the core skills of leadership, digital literacy, creativity, collaboration critical thinking and problem solving. The experience of making this video could also be used strengthen a future overseas university application.

There will be a country winner, regional winner, and a global winner. The global winners will be flown to London with their teacher to experience the culture of the UK!

*Note that to be eligible for the global prize, students should be no older than 17 by August 31st 2020 in accordance with UK child protection regulations.
