Your World is a short video competition for students aged 14 - 17 provide a window into their world that will interest other students from all over the world.

We are excited to announce the launch of Your World Video Competition for 2020-2021. Building on the success of previous Your World competitions, we are pleased inform you that the theme for this year’s competition is ‘Building a brighter future.

We are inviting students to make a live action video or animated style video of a social action project that highlights an issue for a defined community and suggests positive actions that people can take to bring about long term and sustainable change for the benefit of that community. This could be in their country, town or city, their school or a group of people large or small.

The video should focus on one of the following areas:

  • Sustainable living
  • Resilient communities

The social action project could focus on how we can better support the community and individuals within it, to overcome challenges and suggest actions they can take to support them by reducing stress, building support networks, activities to build resilience such as teamworking, collaboration projects and the digital know-how to prosper in an uncertain future.

In making their video, students will be able to draw on their cross-curricular knowledge while developing the core skills of leadership, digital literacy, creativity, collaboration critical thinking and problem solving. The experience of making this video could also be used strengthen a future overseas university application.

Students will be working in groups of between three to five to make this video.

There will be one age group category for this years’ competition:

  • Students aged between 14 and 17

There will be a country winner, regional winner, and a global winner. For more information about the prize, please refer to the competition's leaflet.
