Introducing our Skills Doctors for the autumn edition of Vocational Education Exchange — experts in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship ready to answer questions and offer advice in relation to this key area of vocational training.

IRVINE ABRAHAM, COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL MANAGER, NORTHERN REGIONAL COLLEGE, NORTHERN IRELAND UK
With 40 years experience in the TVET sector, Irvine has a diverse career spanning apprentice aircraft fitter, trainer, assessor, external verifier, lecturer, consultant, training manager and busines development manager. He currently heads up the international department at Northern Regional College.
Irvine’s vision is to enrich the lives of TVET staff and students and views ‘problem-based-learning’ projects with an international dimension as an ideal vehicle to make that happen.
BRIAN MCEWAN, PROGRAMME MANAGER, YOUNG ENTERPRISE SCOTLAND
Brian works to inspire, connect and support college and university students into business. He is responsible for facilitating enterprise teaching and learning activity within further and higher education through the Bridge 2 Business and Start Up Programmes. He is also the founder of the Tertiary Enterprise Educators Network
A former lecturer, Brian now manages a team working across Scotland to engage and support activities that enable young people to develop skills to launch their own businesses and consider self-employment as a realistic and viable career option after education.
Working in business development prior to his roles in education, Brian also aims to improve sales education in colleges and universities, and to raise awareness of the need for practical trade, selling and customer interaction opportunities for young business owners.
ANTHONY GRIBBEN, SENIOR EXPERT IN ENTREPRENEURIAL LEARNING, EUROPEAN TRAINING FOUNDATION
Anthony Gribben is a senior expert in entrepreneurial learning at the European Training Foundation — the EU’s specialist agency promoting workforce development in the EU’s neighbouring regions. He has over 35 years’ experience in education, training and labour market reform at both policy and delivery level (local, national and international levels). He writes about and blogs on entrepreneurship.
