Following on from the collaborative work between the Ministry of Employment and Professional Training, the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training, and the employers’ organisation UTICA, the British Council in Tunisia is now supporting the development of Technical and Vocational Education across the country.
One strand of the successful work carried out in the area of skills and training is International Skills Partnerships. Skills partnerships to date have focused specifically on soft skills training in line with labour market requirements for improvement in this area. Entrepreneurship is a high priority in Tunisia and the British Council is supporting the development of young entrepreneurs through the Souk At-tanmia partnership, a programme run by the African Development Bank in conjunction with other International organisations.
As part of British Council Tunisia’s ongoing commitment to skills development across the country, 5 international skills partnerships are available for funding. The focus of the partnerships are soft skills, career guidance and employer engagement. A Travel Grant of £2,000 is available for successful applicants to meet to discuss and plan a prospective partnership. Successful partnership applications will be awarded up to a further £13,000.
