The Research Leadership Training Scheme - South Asia provides emerging research leaders with the opportunity to develop their leadership and application for funding skills and ability to manage large projects at a regional/global level.
The Research Leadership Training Scheme is comprised of two components: a four-day workshop and a mentorship and monitoring phase.
- During the four-day Research Leadership workshop, participants are introduced to a framework for research leadership which encompasses the roles of team leadership and strategic leadership in a multi-stakeholder environment. The workshop covers how to manage multi-dimensional projects, generate impacts from research and successfully bid for future projects.
- The mentorship and monitoring phase takes place for three months after the workshop where participants are assigned a mentor to assist with implementing a project of their choice using the knowledge learnt from the workshop. The mentor will provide advice on career development, preparing a funding bid and creating impacts through research.
As part of the South Asia Science programme, the British Council hosts tailored Research Leadership workshops for researchers with a background in one of the South Asia Science priority areas:
- Mental Health
- Global Health
These priority areas are related to the British Council South Asia Science Initiatives.
