Workshop on Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure for Economic Development
About this opportunity
Under the Researcher Links scheme offered within the Newton Fund, the British Council and the Thailand Research Fund will be holding a workshop on the above theme at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Klong Luang, Pathumthani, Thailand, on 12–16 January 2015. The workshop is being coordinated by Professor Stephen Ogunlana and Dr BHW Hadikusumo, and will have contributions from other leading researchers Dr Alan Forster, Dr Chotchai Chareonngam, Professor Somnuk and Dr Ezekiel Chinyio.
Early Career Researchers from the UK and Thailand are now being invited to apply to attend this workshop.
All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Researcher Links programme.
Deadline for application: 19 December 2014 (For Thai participants only)
Dates of the workshop: 16-19 January 2015
Participants must be early career researchers: Early Career Researchers are defined as holding a PhD (or having equivalent research experience in the general area of civil infrastructure planning, design and construction; and having up to 10 years post-PhD research experience. They are equivalent to the ‘Recognised Researcher’ and sometimes ‘Experienced Researcher’ categories in the EU framework for researchers’ careers.
Leading Researchers as defined by the EU Framework for researchers careers are research group leaders who are internationally recognised in their field.
Participants must have a research or academic position (either a permanent post, research contract, or fellowship etc.) at a recognised research institution either in the UK or in Thailand.
