About this opportunity

We have grants for early career researchers to attend a workshop entitled 'Educational dialogue and transformative learning in STEM subjects in Mexico and the UK'. All travel, accomodation and meals costs will be covered as will the cost of the visa, however all arrangements must be made by the participant.

The workshop is funded by the British Council in conjunction with CONICYT under the Researcher Links initiative. It will take place between 9-13 February 2015 in the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico. The workshop is being organised by Dr Catherine Montgomery, University of Hull and Dr Juan Manuel Fernández-Cárdenas, Tecnológico de Monterrey. The workshop will be interdisciplinary with participants sharing an interest in the development of innovative practices for STEM subjects (Science, Technology, English [Language], and Mathematics) in basic education.

This opportunity is open to early career researchers based in the UK and Mexico. There are no restrictions on nationality.

Early career researchers are defined as holding a PhD (or having equivalent research experience) and having up to 10 years post-PhD research experience. They are equivalent to the ‘Recognised Researcher’ and sometimes ‘Experienced Researcher’ categories in the EU framework for researchers’ careers. Consideration will be given to researchers with more than 10 years post-doc experience that have taken extended career breaks.
