The 'Fostering co-operation between universities and potential employers’ conference, organised by British Council Azerbaijan, is taking place in Baku on Friday 10 October 2014.

This conference will discuss employability and fostering relationships between universities and business enterprises, drawing on the experience of UK higher education institutions with business. UK and Azerbaijan universities will showcase their successful partnerships and how these benefit their students. 

The conference will provide opportunities for presentations and networking among the participants. 


British Council Azerbaijan invites UK higher education representatives to present on best practice in co-operation with industry to improve graduates’ prospects. All UK universities with successful experience of partnering with business enterprises and high level of graduates employability are encouraged to apply. 

Expenses of UK representatives will be covered by British Council Azerbaijan including travel, airport transfers, accommodation and subsistence.

How to apply

Proposals should contain:

  • Background information on the university applying;
  • A brief summary of relevant experience in graduate employability and business partnerships; and
  • An outline of how businesses have been engaged, drawing on real case studies to highlight success and lessons learnt.

A panel from the British Council Azerbaijan and local partners will assess the proposals in light of Azerbaijan’s areas of interest, and successful applicants will be informed by Wednesday 10 September 2014.
