About

Yunnan Education Centre for International Exchange (YECIE) is looking for a UK partner to provide a three month long professional training course in the UK for middle-level administrators and managers from universities in Yunnan province. 

YECIE is based in China’s Yunnan province in Southwest China where the provincial government has identified a shortage of international management skills and experience as an obstacle to implementing its internationalisation strategy for higher education.

Objectives

YECIE wants to cultivate a group of middle-level administrators and managers from universities, vocational colleges and government bodies who have the international skills and vision to improve the management of higher education institutions in Yunnan province.

Expectations 

  • Participants on the course should improve their ability to communicate in English, enhance their cross-cultural understanding, and develop their international leadership and management skills.
  • Visits to relevant institutions and organisations should be incorporated in the programme, as should case studies and workshops focusing on specific skill areas, such as financial and personnel management.
  • The course should be 13 weeks in length, preferably from mid-August to mid-November 2015.
  • The course should accommodate 15-20 people and be delivered within a budget of 100,000RMB per participant, preferably less.

Other requirements

Accommodation and interpretation services should be arranged as part of the programme budget.
