Eligibility Individuals, institutions, consortia or research agencies with an interest in research on education, conflict and peace, including from a development or international relations perspective.

Education is an important part of the global debate on how to foster security, peace and stability. Academic research shows that it can play a role in reducing internal conflict, by promoting inclusion, strengthening social cohesion, developing a more engaged citizenry and increasing economic productivity. Education can also benefit inter-state relations, by promoting positive cooperation and dialogue during times of diplomatic tension.

We are seeking experts who can provide a high-level horizon scan of the research and evidence on the role that education can play in fostering security, peace and stability globally. They will also be able to provide insight into the contribution that specific education programmes carried out by the British Council and other international actors have made to security, peace and stability in the countries they are delivered and for the UK.
