A new agreement between the British Council and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) in Brazil was signed at the Going Global 2014 conference for leaders in international higher education.

Jo Beall, Director of Education and Society for the British Council, and Glaucius Oliva, President of CNPq, signed the agreement to develop the Researcher Links initiative.

The Researcher Links initiative supports bilateral workshops for early-career scientists from the UK and partner countries, with the aim of establishing future research collaborations. The initiative is already running in Brazil, in partnership with FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation). This new agreement with CNPq will help to extend the reach of Researcher Links in Brazil.
