City Insights: An introduction to the characteristics and opportunities of six Indian cities
This report provides insights into the education, entrepreneurship and economic, trends of six Indian cities - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Pune.
In summary, three major focus areas of investment and bilateral knowledge sharing would be direct engagement with state and private universities, the burgeoning enterprise, innovation and the information technology (IT) sector and the new Smart Cities Mission.
Major findings of the report include:
- Despite the decline in student numbers in recent years there is still a strong interest among Indian students to study in the UK, from the cities represented in this research.
- Growing interest in entrepreneurship which opens up opportunities for international collaboration.
- Opportunities for UK institutes to be knowledge partners with the cities that are part of India’s Smart Cities Mission.
