This video shows the opening plenary of Going Global 2015, our annual conference for international higher education leaders, held in London. The plenary begins with British Council Chief Executive Ciarán Devane welcoming delegates and introducing Jo Johnson, the UK’s new universities minister, who gave his first public address in his new role. Jo Johnson announced new measures to protect international students from fraud in the UK and told of his personal commitment to overseas study.
Also within the opening plenary, Aung San Suu Kyi, Burmese opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, gives a pre-recorded video address and Mark Stevenson talks about the future of education when technologies leap forward exponentially.
