Zhejiang Fashion Institute of Technology (ZFIT) is once again collaborating with Intrex Fashion Company to run the 2nd Sino-UK Collaborative Innovation Project in Fashion Design.
Ten students from UK universities have been invited to come to Ningbo to work together with Chinese students to design a collection of fashion designated by Intrex from May to October 2014. The collection will be showcased at a fashion show during the 18th Ningbo International Fashion Festival in October 2014. In addition to the show, a workshop will be organised for UK and Chinese universities.
This fashion design event falls under the project 'UK-Ningbo collaboration on textile and fashion design' which was jointly set up by the British Council and ZFIT back in 2011. As a flagship partnership programme of internationalising higher education of the British Council, a series of events and programmes such as workshops, lectures and symposia have been held jointly by the British Council and ZFIT, achieving great impact in fashion education and industry. As a legacy of this partnership, the Sino-British Fashion Design Centre and a joint college 'Sino-British Fashion College' have been set up in collaboration with the UK. ZFIT also runs internship and placement programmes for UK fashion students.
The objectives are to further support the growth and development of the Sino-UK Textile and Fashion Centre, offer opportunities for university students in both countries to work with each other and continue to facilitate the integration between education and fashion industry of the two countries.
