Event aims and objectives:
Focusing on International student mobility: global and Commonwealth perspectives, the conference will review trends in international and Commonwealth student mobility, and examining their implications for the UK in general and for Scotland and its HE institutions in particular.
At issue is how patterns of mobility, the student experience and outcomes, within a range of Commonwealth environments, differ from those observed in other settings.
To celebrate Glasgow’s hosting of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Council for Education in the Commonwealth will hold its 2014 Regional Conference at the University of Glasgow, hosted by The Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change and CRADALL.
Dr Lloyd Anderson, Director of British Council Scotland, will speak on the barriers to mobility.
Michael Peak, Education Research Manager, British Council, will participate in a panel session addressing programme mobility.
Other speakers include Deodat Maharaj, Deputy Secretary General, Commonwealth Secretariat, Bernd Wächter, Chief Executive, Academic Cooperation, Brussels and Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs.
