The purpose of this event is to enhance awareness and knowledge between the Egyptian and international higher education sectors, with a view to achieving greater engagement.

The British Council have organised this event in partnership with Alfanar Media. Alfanar media is a publication about Arab higher education, and a project of the Egyptian-led charity, the Alexandria Trust.

This event is for presidents of Egyptian universities.

The planned outcomes are for greater co-operation between the Egyptian and the international higher education communities, enhancing the experience of both, by:

  1. Encouraging international links between universities by providing examples of successful and sustainable international approaches.
  2. Inspiring Egyptian universities to work with employers locally, nationally and globally by providing international and local models and ideas for ways to do this.
  3. Sharing best practice and examples of dialogue that lead to productive discussion on-campus to reduce tension, recognising the challenges of political and social change for university leaders.
