Attracting international students to the UK - immigration policy, marketing and UK competitiveness

About

Following the recent HEFCE report Global demand for English higher education which highlighted the first fall in non-EU student numbers for 29 years, this seminar focuses on the recruitment of international students to UK higher education institutions. Planned sessions focus on the value that international students provide to UK universities and the wider economy, the impact that recent changes to the post-study work visa is having on international recruitment and whether the UK should remove students from migration statistics.

Our Education Research Manager Michael Peak will be speaking at the session on Emerging market opportunities and pro-active efforts to expand UK recruitment worldwide. His talk will cover:

  • The value of international mobility.
  • Insights from recent trends in student mobility.
  • The work of the British Council in promoting and supporting student mobility.

Please note, this is a non-British Council event and is organised by the Westminster Higher Education Forum. This event is CPD certified.
