The British Council runs a range of programmes aimed at student mobility, either bringing students from overseas to the UK or offering a first extended experience of working or studying in another country to undergraduates in the UK.

Working or studying overseas helps students to develop intercultural and interpersonal skills which are valuable to employers and which can be an advantage in the labour market. Beyond that an overseas experience can inspire a young person in a way that lasts for a lifetime and has an influence on future career choices.

From the perspective of the UK, the age of Global Britain means that connections beyond our borders are more vital than ever, this experience is ever more valuable.
