On behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission in the UK (CSC), British Council is pleased to be hosting Interchange23, an online networking event for Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni.
Virtual Conference 13-17 February, 2023
This year’s conference will focus on Clean Energy, Air and Oceans, and will feature a mix of panel discussions, skills development and networking with the programme stakeholders including the CSC’s Alumni Associations. The agenda of the conference is available for download at the bottom of this page.
Learning about the impact of the work of Commonwealth Alumni will be central to the conference and alumni are invited to join all the sessions for an opportunity to meet other Commonwealth alumni and share expertise and experience. There are also workshops to support the professional development of network members. Registration for the conference will open on Wednesday December 14, 2023.
Andrew Chadwick, Principal Consultant in Higher Education at the British Council said:
‘After a successful online Interchange conference last year, we’re delighted to host Interchange23 the week of February 13-17. We’re excited to offer a virtual event that brings together the Commonwealth scholars and alumni community to connect and share expertise through panel discussions, networking activities and workshops. We look forward to announcing details of key speakers in the lead-up to the event.’
Commonwealth alumni and scholars will be able to view conference details - including conference programme, a brief about the panellists and to register on this page. Please check for updates regularly.
About Commonwealth Scholarships
To date, over 31,000 people have taken up a Commonwealth Scholarship since the first group of 175 Scholars arrived in the UK in 1960. During those six decades, the scheme has constantly developed, adapting to the very different world of a 56-nation Commonwealth of today. Global alumni include highly influential and notable figures, including prime ministers and cabinet ministers, Nobel Prize winners, academics, diplomats, and leaders in major NGOs and businesses.
Commonwealth Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development and are offered to citizens from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries.
The majority of Scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.
The British Council has been involved in delivering the Commonwealth Scholarships Programme since 1959. The programme is delivered on behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and the British Council. The British Council is pleased to be the host of Interchange23.
