The British Council invites applications for the Going Global Partnerships Gender Equality Fund. The aim of this fund is to help progress gender equality within higher and further education, and to build on the potential of sector to influence wider society.

The fund will prioritise partnerships that focus on one or more of the following themes:

  • Prevention of violence against women and girls, with a particular focus on higher and further education institutions as safe spaces for women
  • Addressing women’s underrepresentation in higher and further education leadership
  • Tackling subject segregation, particularly in STEM disciplines and careers.

Awards will support partnerships between eligible UK higher and further education institutions and partner institutions in one or more participating countries - Bangladesh, Indonesia, Peru and Vietnam. See full eligibility criteria in the documents below.

We expect to support 6 projects of between £20,000 and £25,000 in value each for a 12-month period, starting from April 2022. Proposals should be designed by the Lead Applicant in the partner country, with the support of the UK partner organisation.
