Education UK Alumni Award 2016 nominators agree to:
- Provide personal information that is in all respects true, accurate and up to date and is not, in any respect, misleading, deceptive or inaccurate or likely to mislead or deceive
- Notify the British Council immediately of any relevant changes in their nomination at any stage during the application process.
The personal information provided by nominators will be used by the British Council in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998, and any relevant local law, for the purposes of the Education UK Alumni Awards 2016. The British Council may share personal information with nominees’ former UK universities and trusted third parties when necessary to fulfil the purposes stated above.
By checking the tick boxes on the nomination form you agree that the information that British Council holds/shares about you will be treated as confidential and will only be disclosed to any other party:
i) as detailed in this notice and in the terms and conditions document (i.e. the nominee’s former UK university and reference checking agencies) or at your request or with your consent;
ii) to agents and others in connection with running services for you/your nominee;
iii) to investigate or prevent fraud; and
iv) if the law permits it or it is in the public interest.
For the purpose of collecting and processing your nomination for the Education UK Alumni Awards 2016 and obtaining references from third parties the personal data on the nomination form you submit will be retained on the application system in accordance with the British Council’s records data retention schedule. Under UK Data Protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold on you and the right to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in that information.
