Tanzanian filmmakers can now apply to participate in a 3 day intensive short film workshop. Through this theoretical short film development course you will learn how to take projects from the idea stage, whilst investigating form/content and maximizing potential audience/distribution opportunities. 

Two successful applicants will have the opportunity to premier at Zanzibar International Film Festival 2018 platform. 

Course Content:

Investigating form/content of idea – In the new media landscape - Is this the right format for your vision?

Maximizing digital visibility and impact of short film content. 

Creating links to various online media and platforms with thematic connections to the content. 

Analysing digital marketability from pre – post production, looking at the intersection between digital and theatrical release strategies and how they benefit one another. 

Eligibility

Tanzanian filmmakers between 18-35 years with relevant film content (idea) or making experience (short film, music videos, webs series).

Zanzibar International Film Festival is an annual multi-disciplinary arts and cultural with 8 days of local and international discussion panels, workshops, 10 days of screenings of the best local and international cinema and evenings of musical concerts including a Gala each evening. Shola Amoo (UK) Filmmaker 

Shola Amoo (UK) is a graduate of the National Film and Television School, his graduate film Touch won Shooting People’s Film of The Month competition, chosen by Oscar nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto. Touch also toured the UK as part of The BFI’s Sci-Fi season. Shola’s debut feature is a multimedia Film called A Moving Image. It had its World Premiere at The LA Film Festival 2016 in competition for the World Fiction prize and received The Special Recognition Award at The Blackstar Film Festival in Philadelphia. It had its European Premiere at The BFI London Film Festival 2016 and is being released theatrically in the UK from the 28th April 2017 through Verve Pictures.
