What is the opportunity?

The British Council has several pockets of knowledge relating to TNE in different contexts.  There is scope for improvement in how it presents and connects these nuggets of information. For instance, in the last 12 months, British Council has published or commissioned over 20 separate pieces of research and/or insight relating to TNE.  Most of these have been presented individually to British Council colleagues and to local HE sector audiences, but little or nothing has been done to consider the totality of these pieces of work, or to cross reference and connect the knowledge contained across these separate studies.

To support its TNE Strategy, the British Council is seeking a supplier to collate information on all British Council research relating to TNE published or commissioned since Summer 2022.  The project will assess the knowledge and insight generated from these different studies and will consolidate and summarise it under thematic headings. These summaries will be presented as a suite of short (2-3 page) “What we know” briefs. A potential addition (value add) to this project would be to include a communications strategy for the British Council and to create supporting marketing collateral in the form of engaging infographics, animations, videos, power point etc.

Overall, this is an exercise which aims to consolidate and coordinate British Council knowledge and understanding of TNE.

Objective of this research

  • To position the British Council as a source of knowledge and expertise in TNE
  • To assess how British Council knowledge of TNE is supporting the British Council’s TNE Strategy
  • To unlock the knowledge the British Council has in the organisation about TNE
  • To support HMG and policy makers and practitioners in the UK and in other countries with their international education ambitions.

 Outputs and deadlines

  • A minimum of 4 short (2-3 pages), engaging briefs written in clear, accessible style in English using the British Council brand (research identity) – web-ready and printable versions.
  • A communications strategy to be developed to advise the British Council how best to disseminate and share our knowledge on TNE.
  • Marketing collateral. British Council is interested to invite suggestions of impactful ideas and receive them as collaterals (once agreed).  These could include:
  • Simple infographics for use in social media (supplied in formats appropriate for X(Twitter) and LinkedIn
  • More complex infographics for use in presentations (supplied in .PPT format),
  • Animations and videos – max length 2 minutes for use on British Council website
  • Animated graphs for use in social media output (X (Twitter), LinkedIn) etc
