Scoring Commission Grants open call

We're offering three grants of £1,500 each to emerging UK composers to create a new original score to a piece of film supplied by our Envision Sound partners in Ukraine. In addition to the grant, each applicant will receive mentoring time with one of our Envision Sound UK tutors and consultation time with the director of the film they are composing music for.

  • Grant: £1,500 will be awarded to each successful applicant to realise a new original score
  • Deadline: 21 November 2020
  • Open to: emerging UK-based composers and musicians with diverse experiences and backgrounds in different musical style

Call for artistic advisor

We are currently looking for a UK-based Artistic Advisor to lead on the artistic development of the next iteration of our digital exhibition platform Museum without Walls.

  • Fee: £5,000 (VAT included)  
  • Deadline: 25 November 2020
  • Open to: applicants can either be independent with their own companies or working for an arts institution who have extensive curatorial experience and strong knowledge of British Contemporary art

New Conversations: round three

New Conversations is offering funding for partnerships to explore how they can develop new creative ideas, exchange knowledge and practice without meeting in person.

  • Grant: $6,000 CAD / £3,500 GBP
  • Deadline: 27 November 2020
  • Open to: Canada and UK-based individual artists, collectives, independent companies and organizations of theatre and dance, but we welcome applications from collaborations across art forms (priority will be given to project proposals led by groups or people who identify as minority ethnic, D/deaf, and or disabled, and LGBTQIA+

Open call for creative commissions

We're inviting applications for creative commissions that bring together art, science and digital technology and offer innovative responses to climate change. The commissions will be part of the cultural programme in the build-up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which the UK is hosting in Glasgow in November 2021.

  • Grant: up to £50,000
  • Deadline: 13 December 2020
  • Open to: individuals or organisations involved in arts, creativity and culture, community and civil society, science and research, education, English language teaching and youth work who are based in the UK and can partner with eligible countries and states overseas

Connections Through Culture: China

Connections through Culture is a long-term programme to develop exciting cultural collaborations between artists and arts organisations, supporting long-lasting relationships between China and the UK.

  • Open to: artists and arts organisations in the UK and China 

Creative Europe

Creative Europe is the European Union's programme to support the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors. From 2014-2020, €1.46 billion is available to support European projects with the potential to travel, reach new audiences and encourage skill sharing and development. Creative Europe brings together a Culture sub-programme, which provides funding for the cultural and creative sectors, and a MEDIA sub-programme, which invests in film, television, new media and games.

China Now

China Now is a digital hub offering insights, exclusive content, and opportunities for UK based creatives and organisations interested in working in China.

Connections Through Culture: Taiwan

British Council in Taiwan has launched the 'Connections through Culture' Grants starting in July 2019. It is an arts grant scheme which aims to develop exciting cultural collaborations between artists and arts organisations, also to support long-lasting relationships between Taiwan and the UK.
