Cultural Protection Fund Senior Grants Manager

The Senior Grants Manager plays a strategic and appropriate role in British Council cultural relations mission leading and supporting the team of Grant Managers for the Cultural Protection Fund (CPF). The Cultural Protection Fund Senior Grants Manager will work closely with the CPF Director and the CPF SRO (Head, Arts and Society) to ensure that the quality of the work assessing, approving and monitoring applications to the Fund is maintained at the highest possible level and that the Fund itself continues to offer a model of Cultural Relations in action.

The Cultural Protection Fund Senior Grants Manager will also support the work with liaising with partners and stakeholders and managing relationships internally and with key external UK partners. You will lead on the development and management of the Culture Protection Fund staff team while also advising on issues relating to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Protection and will have line management responsibilities.

Grants and Evaluation Manager, Cultural Protection Fund

The Cultural Protection Fund (CPF) Grants and Evaluation Manager will work closely with three other Grant Managers and the Senior Grants Manager on the development and assessment of applications to the fund. There will also be a caseload of projects in delivery to monitor. Careful monitoring of project progress and financial expenditure is an important aspect of the role to ensure that all grant conditions are met.

The role also involves project managing CPF evaluation activity with support from the team and the Head of Evidence for Arts: creating frameworks for capturing and evaluating data provided by grant recipients; analysing impact both of individual project outcomes and of the Fund as a whole; contributing data and analysis to CPF’s evaluation, the annual report and the Tailored Review; and providing guidelines and templates to guide CPF’s work in the future.

Grants Manager, Cultural Protection Fund 

The Cultural Protection Fund Grants Manager works closely with three other Grant Managers and the Senior Grants Manager on the development and assessment of applications to the Fund and the monitoring and evaluation of funded projects. Careful monitoring of project progress and financial expenditure is an important aspect of the role to ensure that all grant conditions are met. 

The Grants Manger will also liaise closely with specialist assessors and in-country British Council staff, developing detailed knowledge of the context within the Fund’s target countries in and around the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The Grants Manager may at times be asked undertake line management responsibilities, and travel within the UK and internationally is required.
