We organise national and international events to bring our partners together and give them the opportunity to build their networks and capacity.
During these events, national civil society and government partners working in a particular development area share learning, engage in policy dialogue and develop joint projects. Partners can exchange innovations and long-term planning for Active Citizens that helps to build upon the existing programme structures.
What benefited me was networking with international partners, learning about new ideas of social action and how other countries work on capacitating and mentoring youth through the journey of Active Citizens.
Themes that have been covered in events include: literacy; conflict and cohesion; social enterprise; and youth empowerment.
A recent event in Pakistan brought people together to discuss and understand critical issues faced by youth and communities in the programme regions. The event aimed to encourage partners to collaborate in addressing issues such as education, conflict, social enterprise and institutionalisation.
