Stevie Spring became Chairman of the British Council in August 2019.
She is also Chairman of Mind, the mental health charity, serves on the board of the world's largest consumer cooperative, The Co-op Group and is an investor/advisor to two tech companies. She has previously chaired both the Groundwork Federation and BBC Children in Need, and served on the boards of Kent University, Arts and Business, and the Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society.
Stevie graduated in law - specialising in international law and international relations - and after roles in marketing, television and international advertising, served as Chief Executive of two global media companies where she led on digital transformation. Named one of Britain’s 500 most influential people and one of the UK’s 100 most connected women, Stevie was awarded a CBE in the 2017 Queen's Birthday Honours.
