English for Young Learners: Kids (9 -12 year olds)

OUR LEVELS

We base our Kids Courses on the Council of Europe Framework. We divide them into 4 main levels A2 (elementary) to C1 (advanced)

COURSE CONTENT

The language element of each level is based on a course book. Study of course book material will account for 50-60% of the syllabus. Lessons are planned to introduce new language and practice it in ways that are increasingly communicative, with students being encouraged to experiment with the language as much as possible. For this reason, a major part of the syllabus is designed around activities selected by the teacher. Each course also has a class reader which the teacher will use with the students in a variety of ways.

Each course develops language and social skills through a wide variety of activities, which include:

  • extensive reading of prose and poems
  • intensive reading tasks, including vocabulary building, comprehension and grammar
  • writing assignments, including composition writing, spelling and grammar
  • discussion and oral presentations
  • listening to stories and poetry
  • language learning computer programmes
  • project work and research skills
  • problem-solving tasks
  • creative activities, including writing and arts & crafts
  • learning how to learn.

COURSE MATERIALS

All courses are linked to Council of Europe Framework and use the Cambridge English World Wide series (Cambridge University Press)
