EFFECTIVE PRESENTATIONS

Presenting information and knowledge to groups of people is probably the most common business activity for people at all levels. It is an effective and efficient way to gain influence and achieve results. Confident speakers, in control of their material, audience and themselves command respect and attention, no matter what the context or situation.

This highly practical workshop provides participants with a full understanding of how to prepare, organise and deliver presentations. It demonstrates techniques for creating interest and impact that reflect the positive style and personality of the speaker. It shows how to reduce stress, deal with the voice and breathing, and how to communicate through body language.

You can expect to:

EFFECTIVE MEETINGS

Successful meetings increase productivity, enhance reputations and build relationships. The roles of the chairperson and of other meeting participants are crucial to a successful outcome.

This workshop focuses on the responsibilities of all participants: preparation, planning and timing, including the special skills needed by a chairperson to lead the meeting to a satisfactory outcome for all.

Through exercises, discussion and role-play, participants develop skills in managing and influencing meetings and also ensuring their points are heard and understood.

We also help participants understand how their choice of meeting technology will affect their approach and outcomes.

WRITTEN COMMUNICATION

EFFECTIVE EMAIL WRITING

Good writing leads to clarity and understanding, and consequently better business relationships.

In this course you will learn to balance your own and your reader’s needs, organise your thoughts clearly, and express yourself in a modern business style. You will learn how to handle difficult situations by using the appropriate structure and tone.

You can expect to:

  • tailor your writing style to fit your readers' needs
  • plan and organise your writing to fit your purpose
  • write clear, concise and complete letters and emails
  • construct sentences correctly and effectively in plain English

EFFECTIVE REPORT WRITING

Good decisions come from good reports. The best reports demonstrate the writer's command of both material and medium. They demand respect and achieve an appropriate, positive response.

This workshop is highly practical. It deals with the fundamental skills needed for planning, structuring, writing and, checking reports. It provides techniques and exercises for focusing on objectives and outcomes, the reader, and the material. There is a case study running through the course so that participants can put the skills they acquire into practice immediately.
