6 September - friendly fans' match of Russia-Ireland national teams.

On Tuesday, September the 6th, just before the European ChampionshipQualify round, "Luzhniki" stadium hosted a friendly football match between fans of Russia and Ireland national teams.  The game was organised under the British Council "Football Unites" project with the support of FUR and Irish Football Association.

At 12 pm a master class was held for the pupils of the boarding school №4 (orphanage). Upon completion of the master class children received prizes from the football associations of Ireland and Russia. Master class was conducted by a chief coach of the Russian national under-21 football team, the winner of Champion League and UEFA Cup - Dmitry Alenichev.

The friendly match resulted 5-3 to Russia. The 2010 match in Dublin resulted 1:1.

Chelsea-Spartak Moscow game, 3 November 2010

Alenichev, winner of the UEFA Cup and Champions League with FC Porto and four-time winner of the Russian League with Spartak Moscow had start the day by joining the Mayor of Southwark Cllr Tayo Situ and service veterans to lay a wreath at the Soviet War Memorial in the park of the Imperial War Museum to commemorate the 27 million Soviet citizens who died in World War II from 1941 to 1945.

Dmitriy Alenichev sad: "It is a great honour to be at this ceremony in memory of those people who showed extreme courage and heroism and those who gave up their lives for us. We should never forget what those people did and keep their memory in our hearts forever"

Following the ceremony Dmitriy Alenichev had deliver a coaching session for local youngsters on Chelsea’s Blue Pitch at Eel Brook Common alongside the Chelsea Foundation coaches.

As a good tradition of the project Fans of Chelsea and Spartak Moscow football clubs had hold a friendly match at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and afterwards jointly pay tribute to the memory of British soldiers killed in the first and second World Wars at the monument located in the hospital. Alenichev and a famous Chelsea pensioner had attend as the guest of honour for a kick off ceremony.

Russia - Ireland match, 8 October  2010

On friendly match was held between fans of national teams of Ireland and Russia scheduled to coincide with the Euro 2012 qualifying game between national teams of Ireland and Russia. Earlier that day a master class was held for pupils of St Lorcan's School as well as children from the Sport Association of Russian Speakers of Ireland. The master class was conducted by a formerly well-known footballer and currently director of the Russian Football Union – Nikolai Pisarev along with coaches from the Football Association of Ireland.

The friendly match took place at Paddington Recreation Ground Maida Vale, London. The guest of honour for this match was Roman Pavluchenko, forward of Russian National team and «Tottenham Hotspur».

A friendly match between Russia and Wales team fans (World Cup 2010 qualifying), 10 September 2008
The British Council and  the RFU in the framework of  “Football unites” project hold  series of activities timed to the football matches of Russian and Wales national teams, which took  place on  in the 6th field of the Luzhniki Olympic complex. Vadim Evseev FC “Saturn” team player was the  honourable guest of the match.

Master class for orphaned children with disabilities was conducted by Vadim Evseev. Fans of Wales football team participated in conducting a master class as well. As a part of this charity action, with the participation of the Wales team fans, RFU and the British Council, boarding schools will be donated the electronic equipment, football kits of Russia national team, football balls and other memorable gifts. Also, the children will visit Russia and Wales match.

Champions League Final, 21 May 2008
Friendly game in Moscow between Manchester United and Spartak Moscow fan clubs and attended by former stars of both clubs in advance of the all-England Champions League Final in Moscow.

"Premier Skills" piloting, February 2008
Teachers of English participated in a series of meetings to examine the new British Council ‘Premier Skills’ DVD - a tool which highlights the experiences of non-UK national footballers playing in the English Premier League and their experiences of learning English and living in the UK as a motivating tool to encourage learners of English.

The Official England Fan Club visit  Moscow , October 2007

The England fans laid a wreath at the Eternal flame (the memorial to those who died in the Second World War), visited specialist English schools and took part in a historic friendly match between the Official England and Russian fan clubs. on 16 October 2007

Four young footballers visited England, October 2007
Four young Russian footballers from the youth amateur tournament ‘Leather Football’ Moscow final were selected  as best players from the Moscow final at the ‘Krylya Sovetov’ stadium  in May 2007 to go go to England.  The children and their coach attended the first qualification match for the European Championship tie between the English and Russian national teams on 12 September 2007 at Wembley, London. The young footballers visited football museums and the London football academy.

They were joined by the winner of an online Football Quiz to be hosted by British Council and Visit Britain. In addition, a friendly football match between Russian and English football fans took place in September 2007.

Online football quiz 10 July – 10 August 2007
The winner of the football quiz is Oksana Chesnokova from Kaliningrad. 140 participants will get football souveniers. Full list of winners (Excel).
