GOING GREEN AFTERNOON EVENT

Nature is the place we live in. Unfortunatelly, people do not care about nature today in their high-rise buildings and concrete cities.

Launched in 2007, Going Green is a new British Council project, in which students, teachers, environmentalists and colleagues work together to give nature its rightful place in our lives, through simple and easy to implement ideas, both at home and at the workplace.

On 7 November, British Council organised between 14:00-17:00 hours a Going Green event, for school children and their parents. The event took place in Herastrau Park, Exhibition Pavilions A and B (Charles de Gaulle Square entrance, the alley on the right). Our partners were the British Embassy, the MaiMultVerde Association and the Department for Lakes, Parks and Leisure in Bucharest (ALPAB).

The aim of this event was to empower children and parents to become friends of the environment through activities which stimulate their creativity and understanding about natural surroundings. Participants received prizes made of eco-friendly objects.
