The Said Foundation aims to encourage development of the Middle East through education of young people for whom such opportunities would not otherwise be available. The foundation has awarded scholarships to talented Arab students in financial need since 1984.
You need to:

Be Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian or Syrian, and resident in the Arab world. |

Demonstrate that your chosen course of study will be of use to your home country or the Middle East region |

Have at least two years' work experience |
 |

Apply for a place on a course in the UK |

 |
Sign a binding undertaking to apply the skills and knowledge you will gain in one of the foundation’s target countries. |
The Said Foundation offers three programmes at postgraduate level in UK institutions:
Study for a Masters Degree in the UK
The Said Foundation is able to provide full or partial scholarships for Masters degrees at universities around the UK, depending on the level of financial need or whether other grants are available to applicants. While we are able to provide full funding, we are also able to provide matching funds.
- The Foundation has joint scholarships schemes with the University of Birmingham, the University of Cambridge, Durham University, the University of East Anglia, the University of Essex, the University of Exeter, the University of Glasgow, Goldsmiths College, The Institute of Education (University of London), King’s College London, the University of Leeds, the University of Leicester, London School of Economics, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of Nottingham, the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes University, Royal Holloway, the School of Oriental and African Studies, the School of Pharmacy, the University of Southampton, the University of St Andrews, University College London and the University of Warwick. You MUST apply to these universities if they have courses meeting your needs. Applicants should apply using the Foundation’s application form by 31 January.
Study for other Postgraduate training
The Said Foundation is able to provide full or partial funding for specialised training in the UK depending on financial need. While we are able to provide full funding, we are also able to provide matching funds. Scholarships are normally for a maximum of one year.

NB: Shortlisted candidates will be expected to provide three references (one of which must be on the KRSF reference form) if they are invited to second interview in June.2012

The deadline for Oxford applications is 20 January 2012 for most courses but please check the Oxford University prospectus. The deadline for Cambridge applications is 02 December 2012 Completed forms should be sent directly to these universities on their addresses below.
