Chevening Fellowships

Background

The Chevening Fellowships are a recent initiative, that offer awards for study on short courses that focus on particular subjects aligned to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's strategic priorities. Fellowships are aimed at mid-career professionals in positions of leadership and influence

Application criteria

Courses open to both male/female applicants
No age restriction
Must able to attend the full 12-week course in the UK
Must be willing to appreciate not just the UK culture but also the cultures of other participants
Have excellent spoken and written English

Applicants who are not eligible

Those who have in the past three years received a British Government funded scholarship
Staff working at the Consulate, DfID or British Council, or with a sponsor or who has worked for Consulate/Dfid/Council in the past two years

Courses available

Applications will be invited for fellowships in 2011 in the summer of 2010.  We will provide further details in due course
