Each level of our General English courses are 30 hour modules with specific language aims. For example, Pre-intermediate 2 is a 30 hour module. You can take up to 3 modules in a year studying 3 hours a week. General English is available at British Council Rua do Breiner and British Council Foz do Douro.

Our General English courses develop your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in a collaborative environment that maximises learner participation. Our teaching methodology is also designed to consolidate and promote independent learning through our wide range of additional facilities, such as the library and in-class multimedia technology.

Speak with Confidence: develop your speaking skills Our Speak with Confidence course is a 20 hour short topic based English course aimed at improving your confidence in speaking. You can take up to 3 courses a year studying 2 hours a week. Council of Europe Level: A1-C2
British Council Course: Speak with Confidence A, B and C We offer courses at three different bands from Pre-Intermediate to Advanced. Speak with Confidence courses can complement the General English programme by providing lessons which focus specifically on oral communication skills or can work as a stand alone course for those interested in focusing specifically on their speaking.
