Higher Education Links - British Council Pakistan

Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and British Council Pakistan launched Joint Higher Education Links Programme (JHELP) in January 2004 and later on phase II of the programme in 2006 to enhance the research and training capacity of Pakistani higher education institutions. 50 research links were established between Pakistani and UK institutions in two phases of this project. The Documentary presents some of the success stories emerging out of this programme.

		Maternal and Newborn Health Programme Research and Advocacy Fund (MNH-RAF)
		The Maternal and Newborn Health Programme Research and Advocacy Fund (RAF) is a five year project managed by a British Council-led consortium along with partners IPACT at the University of Aberdeen; Social Development Direct and RIZ Consulting. It aims to promote quality in maternal and newborn health, non-clinical research accessible and useful to Pakistani policy-makers, and supporting effective civil society initiatives that provide research-based evidence to influence change in Maternal and Newborn Health practices. 		International Health Links Funding Scheme
		The International Health Links Funding scheme is aimed at strengthening partnerships, or ‘links’, between UK health institutions and their counterparts in the developing countries. It is a three-year scheme that provides grants and support for links. The primary purpose of links is to build the capacity of developing countries’ health systems. Find more...

		PMI2
		The Prime Minister’s Initiative for International Education (PMI2) was launched in April 2006. This was a 5-year strategy building on the accomplishments of the first PMI, seeking to raise the numbers of international students recruited to the UK. 		Inspire
		International Strategic Partnerships in Research and Education (INSPIRE) is a regional project launched in September 2008. It manages 27 partnerships between Pakistani and UK higher education institutes in the fields of health, environment, archaeology, heritage and more. Read more...

Scholarships

The British Council administers and manages several scholarship programmes, especially at post graduate level. These programmes range from complete scholarships for taught masters programmes to fellowships for short term attachments in the UK. Read more...

British Alumni Association of Pakistan

The British Alumni Association of Pakistan (BAAP) is a society of UK graduates living in Pakistan. It was formed as a part of British Council’s global alumni development initiative. Representing graduates from various UK Universities, our various cultural, social and educational activities have brought British graduates, new and old, closer together.
