British Council Middle East
Why study with us
A wealth of resources and programmes

As the UK's international organisation for educational and cultural relations, the British Council is able to create unparalleled opportunities in English language learning and cultural exchange. With some of the most highly qualified EFL teachers in the UAE, a wealth of resources and a variety of programmes to choose from, we are the organisation best placed to help you achieve your goals.

Our Approach

British Council teachers are trained to follow a communicative approach to language teaching and learning. This involves pair work and group work, and promotes interaction and learning through doing. Our classes are small so you get individual attention from the teacher. You are given guidance on how to learn better and get the maximum benefit out of the course.

Feedback at every stage

When you're learning a new language, feedback is really important. After all, you always learn from your mistakes. That's why, at the Teaching Centre, whatever communication activity you're undertaking, you get the feedback you need.

Our Teachers

Whether from London or Lahore, New York or Nairobi, Sydney or Singapore all of our teachers have a teaching qualification and experience in teaching English as a Second Language. The British Council actively encourages a diverse teaching staff that reflects the cultural diversity of the UK.

Teachers aim to create a relaxed and productive environment where you can learn to use English in real-life work and social situations.

Our Courses

We have a wide range of courses for adults and young learners. We make improving your English language and communication skills enjoyable. We have many specialist skills courses and we also offer custom-made packages designed to meet specific training needs to organisations.

Assess your level of English

Before you start a course, it’s a good idea to check your level. That way you can be sure of finding a course that best suits your ability.
