What is a Chevening Scholarship?
The Chevening Scholarship Programme is a prestigious awards scheme that funds international postgraduate students who want to study in the UK. Funded by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and administered by the British Council.

What financial support does the Scholarship offer?
The level of support varies. Support can include:

			A gratis student visa
			All your academic fees
			A monthly allowance to cover living expenses

Can you apply?
You can apply if you are a postgraduate student who can prove your academic success and who has already begun a career in your chosen field. You'll be expected to show you have at least two years' working experience, with an excellent track record illustrating your achievements, and evidence that you will become a leader in your chosen field. You will also need an upper second class degree or higher. You must be a national in the country in which you apply.

You must have good English language skills (most UK Higher Education institutions require a minimum IELTS of 6.5 for admission onto postgraduate courses).

One of the main aims of the scheme is to assist successful candidates in playing leading roles in the future of their country. Applicants will normally be selected from those who wish to take courses in: economics, finance, banking, law, human rights, public administration, management, project planning, media, political science, international relations, diplomatic training and environmental studies although applicants for other courses may be considered.

You are expected to show a commitment to return to your home country, where you will contribute to the country's socio-economic development using the new skills and knowledge acquired during your stay in the UK.

You cannot apply for a scholarship for undergraduate or PhD study.

How do you apply?
You will need to check if your country has announced for receiving applications then fill in this e-chevening online application form. Please apply online only but note that should you be called to an interview, you will be required to bring all the following documents as originals:

			Birth certificate or any evidence of your age such as passport copy (with translation)
			Reference letters from the two referees you designated in your e-chevening application form.
			Letter of experience from your recent employers
			Evidence of your last level of English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL or any)
			Certificates for the qualifications you obtained after secondary school.
