This activity began with looking at noun + noun combinations (e.g. ghost ship, pirate bay) – which led to making a map with ten places with interesting names. Then to give the maps an old, ‘parchment’ feel, we smeared tea bags over the paper. The student's map is a lovely, colourful one that the class TA chose as his favourite.
