Trainers for English Teacher Trainer Development project in China

The British Council is the UK’s leading cultural relations organization and one of its objectives is to increase the quality of teaching and learning of English worldwide.

The Teacher Trainer Development project has 6 new trainer positions, each to deliver one month of face-to-face training in China on different parts of a three month course.

The three month course for Chinese teachers of English will provide the knowledge and skills needed for a group of key teachers from the compulsory education sector to themselves become an excellent team of trainers.

The project will be run jointly by the British Council and provincial education authorities in Anhui and Yunnan at similar times between February and May 2012.

The teacher training development project has three one-month stages, and trainers are invited to apply for the following positions:

4-week cultural and language course – two English teachers for Anhui

4-week teacher training - one trainer for Anhui and one trainer for Yunnan

4-week trainer training – one trainer for Anhui and one trainer for Yunnan

The project has been developed to support Education authorities in their work find it absolutely essential to raise the professional profile of local English teachers. They aim to do this by creating a group of high-quality, officially appointed trainers. The Teacher Trainer Development project supports this objective.
