值法国担任欧洲联盟轮值主席国之际，首届中国欧洲联盟电影展将于二零零八年十二月一日至十二月二十日于北京举行。本届电影展由欧洲联盟欧洲委员会驻华代表团与法兰西共和国驻北京大使馆共同主办，邀请了所有27个欧洲联盟成员国各自推荐一部来自本国制作，近期公映并获得好评的影片。
2008年12月4~20日将于电影展中展映的24部新近影片来自23个欧盟成员国。将于四个不同场馆分别放映。您将有机会近距离的了解欧洲电影近些年的丰硕成果。所有电影将以原声进行放映，并配有英文和中文字幕。每一部电影将只被放映一次。

故事简介：
70年代，一个苏格兰的青年医师盖瑞岗（Nicholas Garrigan），因为参加医疗慰问团而来到乌干达，不但受到当时乌干达的军事独裁者阿敏（Idi Amin）的赏识，还被留下来当他的御用医师。自诩为「最后的苏格兰王」的阿敏，把盖瑞岗当作是自己儿子般地宠爱，让他享尽荣华富贵.......，这使盖瑞岗感到受宠若惊。年轻的盖瑞岗先是非常崇拜阿敏，甚至将他所做的一切暴行，都视之为理所当然。对于随处可见、毁灭性强的先进武器，盖瑞岗都视若无睹；就算看到反对阿敏的异议份子惨遭可怕的屠杀，他也不闻不问。直到有一天，当他发现自己被大家归为阿敏的党羽时，他才猛然觉悟到自己令人憎恶的一面。此时的盖瑞岗开始想脱离阿敏的恐怖独裁统治，甚至阻止他人神共愤的行为......；但残暴兽性的阿敏会放过他吗？他又能顺利逃离乌干达，远离这场噩梦吗？
