A man out for a stroll in Zócalo, the heart of the old city. Life in Mexico City is tough because of the increasing heat, pollution, and water shortages made worse by climate change. The city authorities are working to prevent these problems swamping the 19.2 million population. In particular, poorer citizens will benefit from new and renovated low-cost housing featuring solar powered heating systems expected to save up to 24,900 tonnes of CO2 every year.
