Tokyu Railways' newest model, the 5000-series, generates electricity from the braking system - just one of the many technologies installed which help the trains to be more efficient. The 5000-series uses 40% less energy than conventional models. As Tokyu Railways carries 2.7 million commuters a day, the use of these trains adds up to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
