Who can participate?

Young people and youth workers are the main audience of the Youth in Action programme. The programme reaches these individuals through promoters. Conditions for participation in the programme therefore relate to these two actors and depend on the country in which they are based.

ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS

Are you a young person aged between 13 and 30, or somebody active in youth work, a youth organisation and a legal resident in one of the Programme or Partner Countries?

If so, you can be a participant in a Youth in Action project, depending on the Action and sub-Action concerned.

In particular, check:

Lower age limits: Participants must have reached the minimum age by the application deadline (exception: European Voluntary Service - Volunteers must have reached the minimum age by the start date of the project activity)
Upper age limits: Participants must not be older than the indicated maximum age by the application deadline
ELIGIBLE PROMOTERS

Youth in Action projects are submitted and if selected, managed by promoters representing the participants.

Are you one of these structures below, legally established in one of the Programme or partner countries?

A non-profit or non-governmental organisation
A local, regional public body
An informal group of young people
A body active at European level in the youth field (ENGO), having member branches in at least eight Programme countries
An international governmental non-profit organisation
A profit-making organisation organising an event in the area of youth, sport or culture

If so, you can be a promoter of a Youth in Action project, depending on the Action or sub-Action concerned.

If your project is selected, you will become a beneficiary of the programme. A beneficiary is a promoter who will be proposed a grant agreement for the realisation of the project (grant agreements are not proposed to the participants themselves).
