Implementation and Support
A multitude of different institutions, structures, and individuals throughout Europe (and beyond) implement and support the Youth in Action programme.
IMPLEMENTATION AT EUROPEAN LEVEL

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
The European Commission is ultimately responsible for running the Youth in Action programme. They manage the budget and set the priorities and criteria for the programme on an ongoing basis. Furthermore, they guide and monitor the general implementation and carry out the evaluation of the programme at European level.

The Directorate General Education and Culture is responsible for the implementation. Unit D1 is in charge of political aspects, while Unit D2 is responsible for the administration. These two mutually co-ordinate the political developments and activities supported by the Youth in Action programme.

THE EDUCATION, AUDIOVISUAL, AND CULTURE EXCUTIVE AGENCY
The Education, Audiovisual, and Culture Executive Agency is notably responsible for the implementation of the centralised Actions of the programme. Through their Youth help desk, they answer enquiries by promoters and participants.

The Youth help desk also supports applicants in issuing visas and helps overcome obstacles regarding the cross-border mobility. It also supports you in crisis management.

THE NATIONAL AGENCIES
To co-operate as closely as possible with the promoters, the Youth in Action programme is primarily implemented at decentralised level. Therefore, each Programme country has appointed a National Agency.

The National Agencies promote and implement the programme at national level and act as a link between the European Commission, promoters, and young people themselves.

They also offer training to applicants and supply general information about training opportunities for preparing and implementing projects.

THE SALTO YOUTH RESOURCE CENTRES
The eight SALTO (Support for Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities) Resource Centres have the task of improving the quality of the granted projects in the Youth In Action programme. Therefore, they provide training and co-operation opportunities to both National Agencies and those active in youth work.
THE EURODESK NETWORK
Eurodesk is a European information network and has national partners in 30 countries. It relays general information in the youth field and assists with disseminating information concerning the Youth in Action programme.
The national Eurodesk partners provide free information to young people and those active in youth work about funding and mobility opportunities as well as about events and publications.
THE EURO-MED YOUTH PLATFORM
The Euro-Med Youth Platform promotes the co-operation, networking and exchange among youth organisations from the Mediterranean Partner Countries. The services provided include a database for partner searches, a discussion forum, country profiles and information about financing Youth Initiatives.

THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION AND THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE
This Partnership in the field of youth policy, youth research, and youth work creates synergies between the two institutions and promotes the development of a coherent strategy in the youth field.

The main activities carried out within the framework of the Partnership are training courses, seminars and network meetings. This work involves youth workers, youth leaders, trainers, researchers, policy-makers, experts, and practitioners. The Partnership also provides important contributions and impulses for the Structured Dialogue.

The results of the Partnership are disseminated through their website research publications. T(raining)-Kits are thematic handbooks that can be used in the Youth in Action projects.
