Action 5 - Support for european co-operation in the youth field
Action 5.1 - Meetings of youth and policy-makers

Support for European co-operation in the youth field aims at helping youth policy co-operation at European level, in particular by facilitating dialogue between young people and policy makers.

Sub-Action 5.1 supports co-operation, seminars and structured dialogue between young people and youth workers, and youth organisations plus those responsible for youth policy.

What type of activities are eligible?

There are two eligible activities:

National Youth Meeting
This is a meeting that takes place at a local, regional, or national level. It can offer space for debate and information on issues which are relevant to structured dialogue or EU policies and topics. It can prepare the ground for an official youth event which relates to the Presidency of the European Union or is linked to European Youth Week. It can also be a way of enhancing cross-sectoral dialogue between the formal and non-formal education areas.
Transnational Youth Seminar
This is a gathering of young people and policy-makers aimed at discussing, exchanging ideas and best practice around the priorities and objectives of the Youth in Action programme.

Please note that the following are not eligible activities:

Statutory meetings of organisations
Academic study visit
Holidays
Language courses
Performance tours
Seminars aiming to make a financial profit
Work camps
Sports competitions
Festivals and other cultural activities
What are the general project criteria?

Promoters: Applicants can be a non-profit/non-governmental organisation, a local, regional, public body or a body active at European level in the youth field.

Participants: Young people need to be aged between 15-30 years old.

Group size: For a National Youth Meeting there must be a minimum of 15 young people involved, and for a Transnational Meeting there must be a minimum of 30 young people from five different Programme Countries.

Duration: The project including the preparation and evaluation phase can last between three and 18 months.

How can I apply?

The partner who is hosting the meeting must apply to their respective National Agency.
