Action 5 of the Youth in Action Programme aims to contribute to the promotion of European cooperation in the youth field. The European Commission is therefore encouraging cooperation in the following areas:
- exchange of good practice and cooperation between administrations and policymakers
- structured dialogue between policymakers and young people
- improving knowledge and understanding of youth
- contributing to the cooperation with international organisations in the field of youth.
This strand supports cooperation, seminars and structured dialogue between young people, youth workers and youth organisations, and those responsible for youth policy. This includes events organised by Member States during their Presidency of the European Union, and events at local, regional and national level.
: Transnational Youth Seminars National Youth Meetings
Please note that the following arenot eligible activities:
- statutory meetings of organisations
- academic study visits
- holidays
- language courses
- performance tours
- seminars aiming to make a financial profit
- work camps
- sports competitions
- festivals and other cultural activities.
- projects must have a minimum of:
- National Youth Meetings: 15 participants
- Transnational Youth Seminars: 30 participants
- young participants must be aged between 15–30 years old
- there must be at least five Programme Countries involved in a Transnational Youth Seminar
- National Youth Meetings must involve at least one organisation from an EU Member State
- Neighbouring Partner Countries can participate in a project but cannot submit an application
- national groups should be balanced in terms of numbers of participants but the host country can have a larger group if necessary
- projects should be between 3–9 months in total including preparation, implementation, evaluation and any follow-up activity.
For Transnational Youth Seminars the Host Organisation applies on behalf of all partners to the National Agency in the country where the seminar will take place. For National Youth Meetings applications should be submitted to the UK National Agency.
