Mid Wales has been awash with a Bollywood glow this summer as Film 15 Productions unveiled its Bollywood High project to young people in the area. Starting in August, the 58 strong group of lucky participants were involved in the production of a Bollywood inspired short film called 'Dream Girl', which is an endearing tale of a boy's first love with a Bollywood twist.
British Council Wales teamed up with Wales Arts International to support the documenting of this project.
Film 15 collaborated with Bollywood superstar star Mayur Verma to make this documentary which gave young people from Mid Wales an opportunity to get valuable industry experience and to work with a range of skilled industry proessionals to produce the film.
As well as learning about Bollywood acting/dancing under the expert guidance of Bollywood actor Mayur Raj Verma, they also received direction from veteran celebrated Bollywood writer and director Sneh Lata Verma, with professional choreographer Hema Houssin.
The production also involved celebrity guests who were called upon to do cameo roles, including Green Wing actor Julian Rhind Tutt and Montgomeryshire MP Lembit Opik.
Film 15 is an experienced organisation that specialises in the research, development and delivery of a range of film making activities for young people based in Mid Wales.
Through their specially designed slate of projects they aim to inspire, nuture and materialise young people's creative ideas and showcase them on a local and international platforms. The project was developed and delivered to bring something unique to the area and to the young people.
The film was premiered at the film awards night on 25th of October in Machynlleth to a selective audience.
