Wales / China Joint Curriculum Projects

What is it about?

This programme is open to primary and secondary schools in Wales and aims to establish and maintain sustainable partnerships with similar schools in the municipality of Chongqing in China. Aspects of the partnership include visits, joint curriculum work and e-communication.

Curriculum work between Wales and China started in April 2007 and over 30 Welsh schools have been partnered so far.

What are the benefits?

  • a more international outlook and ethos for the school
  • raised awareness and interest in culture and traditions
  • to help improve motivation and standards in a wide range of subject areas
  • provision of new opportunities for professional development
  • knowledge and skills to compete in the global labour market and engage in multicultural society (Global Citizenship)
